Holmes Miller have developed detailed proposals for a new 19 storey, 206 bedroom Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) development, on the corner of West Nile Street and Bath Street in Glasgow City Centre.
The development consists of 2 floors of entrance / reception and communal facilities with 17 upper levels of living accommodation and supplementary communal facilities.
The design responds directly to it’s immediate context with a number of massing set backs to adjoining properties. This massing is combined with a dynamic, contemporary elevation treatment which echos the rhythm and proportion of the surrounding historic buildings.
A mid level garden roof terrace takes advantage of the main elevation set back to provide a meaningful amenity space for students linked to a variety of communal facilities, including gym / yoga studio / quiet lounge / reception lounge / study spaces / external landscaped roof terrace / cycle storage / laundry.
