The most important aspect of consultation is listening and understanding the issues which often involves challenging the brief and pre-conceived ideas to ensure that every square meter of the facility will be working as hard as possible.  We have found that open discussion with active parents, staff and pupils can boost a project enormously, bringing new perspective on the school, it’s integration within the wider community, and offering insight into interfaces which pupils and staff experience on a daily basis.

Detailed analysis of the site and surrounding context, is critical to ensure the design fully integrates with its surroundings, takes advantage of orientation and aspect, and embodies the culture, tradition and identity of the area and the school.
